Trunk-aided guide to learning with a purpose
Article Abstract:
The Open University has developed award-winning interactive software, The Trunk, for interactive computer-based distance learning that prompts students to think rather than treat them as passive learners. The Trunk was developed by Peter Twining for a course designed to make students think about various contexts and methods of learning. The program requires students to complete a series of tasks and encourages them to explore their chosen responses.

Trust your tacit knowledge
Article Abstract:
Tacit knowledge, which is the knowledge of know-how and learning while doing, is often undervalued in academic circles in the UK. Postgraduates keen to legitimize tacit knowledge are likely to encounter incredulity. They must trust subjective experience, present here-and-now examples and externalize tactic knowledge. They must be aware that contributing to the stock of knowledge is a social act, even if they often feel isolated.
