...believe that software that prevents plagiarism prevents learning
Article Abstract:
The introduction of software that forces students to correctly cite references in their work is dangerous and prevents the students from learning from their own mistakes. While plagiarism is a problem, the introduction of Big Brother-style monitoring of work is not the way to solve it and students should instead be properly instructed in the need for properly cited references in their work.
