Article Abstract:
Bedouin Dr Abu-Saad has started the Bedouin centre in the Ben-Gurion University, Israel. Abu-Saad sees education of the Bedouin people as vital for helping them cope with changes in the world. Feet first into a fray
Article Abstract:
Academics should ensure their research is widely accessible and that their opinions on world crises are heard. Errors made in Nato's bombing of Serbia which led to gross human destabilization could have been avoided if academics had been consulted. Academics could have used their knowledge of wars in Iraq, Cambodia and Vietnam to forewarn of the error of ignoring the Serbian people's history and self-image and to enhance the public's understanding of the conflict.
