The fellows pushing salad revolution
Article Abstract:
Peterhouse College, Cambridge, was set up in 1284 and excluded women scholars until 1984, when women graduate students entered the college, followed by a woman fellow, Caroline Moore. Two women fellows have been appointed in 1999, and there are eight women fellows of a total 44 fellows. There have been minor changes at the college, but the culture takes longer to change. The college has tended to specialize in subjects where men predominate, such as engineering. Women aim to change the college's culture, and encourage a wide range of would-be student applicants.
