UK failing to prepare for tide of foreigners
Article Abstract:
The United Kingdom is poorly prepared to meet the requirements of the around 810,000 foreign students that are expected to enter the its colleges and universities by 2018, according to an analysis of international student numbers conducted by the British Council in collaboration with IDP Australia. The council warns that institutions in the UK have yet to develop the capacity or human resources to cope with such numbers of international students without jeopardising academic standards.

Colleges fail to fill third of foundation courses
Article Abstract:
A survey of foundation courses run by further education colleges in the UK has revealed that a third of the courses are struggling to fill places and that over one in eight such courses have been axed. The results of the survey cast new doubts over the two-year courses, which the Government introduced with the aim of expanding the number of students entering higher education.
