Airlines can teach utilities about ice
Article Abstract:
The findings made by government researchers regarding on-ground icing could help utilities in detecting and removing ice from power cables. For example, Norwegian utility engineers have used digital video to monitor icing. Other firms are working on way to defrosting ice that has formed on cables.
