Drum mini RV-X55 portable CD radiocassettes

Victor Company of Japan Ltd has introduced its new Drum Mini RV-X55 portable compact disc radio-cassette system. The product measures 259 mm X 541 mm X 215 mm, weighs 6.2 kgs and sports a unique drum-shaped design. Its full-range speaker measures only 10 cm, but delivers extremely heavy bass tones. The product adopts a built-in duct at the side protector and incorporates a 10-watt-plus-10-watt amplifier. With alkaline batteries, the system will work for about 4.5 hours. Power may also be provided from AC 100V sources or DC 12V sources.

AX-F300 MD systems, CX-45 CD radiocassettes

Hitachi Ltd has introduced the AX-F300 MiniDisc (MD) component system and the CX-45 CD radiocassette player. The AX-F300 features separate structures for the MD and CD sections which can install horizontally or vertically to facilitate room layouts. The MD component system adopts an aluminum front panel for the main unit and an European design with wood- grain finish for the speakers. AX-F300 sells for $1,065.

MDH-505 MD radiocassettes
Article Abstract:
Casio Computer Company Ltd of Japan has introduced the MDH-505 minidisc player in 1999. The MDH-505, which is part of the company's Radi-MD series, includes a radio-cassette mechanism and can also play compact discs. It features a bass reflex system and the C-Light edge speakers that supress resonance. It can run on a 100V AC or 12V DC sources. The DC source can supplied by eight D-format batteries.
