How can the flow of power be controlled?
Article Abstract:
Several devices can be used to reroute electric power flow along transmission lines with the most capacity and to minimize voltage drop. These include shunt capacitors, series capacitors, load tap-changer transformers, phase-angle shifting transformers and static VAr compensators.

Why electromagnetic VTs are still best for revenue metering, relaying
Article Abstract:
Electromagnetic voltage transformers (VTs) which have been used for revenue metering and relaying since the 1920s remain unopposed even in the 1990s. The accuracy of wound-type VTs are the same even after years of service.
