Matsushita MCMX hears opportunity knocking in U.S. car A/V market
Article Abstract:
Matsushita Industrial de Mexico (MCMX) intends to increase the sale of its car entertainment electronics to the US in 2000. To achieve its goal, the company plans to market its equipment to carmakers other than General Motors Corp, the only car manufaturer that it currently sells audio equipment to. MCMX, established in 1995 to help expand the operations of parent Matsushita Communications USA, hopes to include both Ford Motor Co and DaimlerChrysler to its list of clients.

As Global Car Audio Demand Dips, Alpine Aims at U.S. Market
Article Abstract:
Alpine Electronics Inc of Japan, aware of an expanding demand for CD players and other car audio equipment in the US, intends to improve its share of the US market with a wider range of offerings. The company, which also sees an evolving client base for MD players in the US, will introduce 15 models of 2-DIN MD and CD players. Alpine will also unveil 23 new types of speakers, composite amplifiers and equalizers as well as five new multimedia equipment.
