Sanyo beefs up production to maintain grip on one-third of global market
Article Abstract:
Sanyo Electric Co Ltd is expanding production of digital cameras in response to a growing demand worldwide. The company has begun producing the iDshot at a rate of 10,000 unis per month, and it already started manufacturing in autumn 2000 DS cameras of popular-price zone in its plant in Indonesia. In addition to popular-priced models, Sanyo in spring 2001 will also increase the production of middle-range cameras in Indonesia, while it speed up production of high-class cameras models in Japan.
