Big competition in low price points
Article Abstract:
The increasing availability of inexpensive, even free, personal computers will likely make them one of the more popular gifts for high school graduates. Cheap PC models include the Packard Bell Multimedia 882 system ($649 suggested retail price), eMachines eStation ($799) and Microworkz Webster jr. ($299). Some dealers, meanwhile, are giving out free computers to consumers who agree to sign up for Internet service.
