Real-time digital processing: getting the most out of your surveillance video
Article Abstract:
Adaptive digital processing can enhance video images, making them more understandable to human observers. DigiVision Inc's Video Locally Adaptive Contrast Enhancement (V-LACE) processor optimizes video images by controlling spatial frequencies' local gain. By computing image corrections instead of whole images, V-LACE technology can provide the processing speed needed for real-time viewing. Applications for V-LACE products are discussed.

Security solutions for wireless data communications systems
Article Abstract:
Proper measures are required to provide security to the government's wireless data systems. Off-the-shelf security solutions that meet the size, power, and user-transparency needs of such systems are available, but simply adding a security product to a wireless system does not assure adequate security. Top-down system design is needed to assure that security and other operational requirements are met.

Machine vision setting new standards in remote surveillance
Article Abstract:
Adaptive Response Technology (ART), an enhanced form of machine vision, is revolutionizing closed-circuit-television-based security systems. ART adds computer intelligence to security systems, allowing the automatic flagging and digital storage of unusual visual events. Such events can be replayed instantly or saved for future detailed analysis. Cortex Vision Systems Inc is a ART pioneer.
