SH7750 V RISC microprocessors
Article Abstract:
Hitachi Ltd has introduced its SH7750V RISC microprocessor. The chip carries out 230 million instructions per second adn 896 million floating point operations per second but consumes only 400mW. The SH7750V, which operates at 128 MHz and 1.5V, allows mobile PCs to handle software-based image processing, voice recognition, voice synthesis and communications. Among the on-chip peripherals are a 16KB data cache, an 8KB instruction cache, a memory management unit, a 32-bit multiplier, a 32-bit timer and memory interfaces.
