Semiconductors will maintain double digit stride through 2006
Article Abstract:
Global semiconductor growth will move at a double-digit pace until at least 2006. The Electronics Industries Assn of Japan also predicts taht after 2003, rising demand from digital TVs and DVD-ROM drives will further fuel semiconductor growth patterns. Worldwide demand for semiconductors will reach US$338.8 billion by 2006 due to the popularity of personal computer and cellular phone. Computers are expected to account for more than half of semiconductor demand.

March winds blow favorably for semiconductors

Worldwide semiconductor device sales have continued to grow robustly, with a 6.7% increase in semiconductor sales being reported in Mar 1999 alone, compared to the same period in 1998. The Semiconductor Industry Assn reported that industry sales increased by 2.4% in Feb 1999 to US$11.155 billion in Mar 1999. This figure resulted from sales increases in four regional markets. Sales in the Asia Pacific region jumped 11.8% in Mar 1999, on a year-to-year basis.

Semiconductor sales remain strong worldwide
Article Abstract:
Semiconductor sales have demonstrated yearto-year double-digit gains. Worldwide, Jul 2000 sales increased by 4.0% from Jun 2000, totaling US$17.32 billion. The figure is a 50% leap from the Jul 1999 figure of $11.53 billion. In North America, sales rose 5.4% to $5.52 billion which is 46.1% greater than te sales of $3.78 billion recorded in Jul 1999. In Europe, sales remained flat from June and Jul 2000, bringing in $3.45 billion.
