Film-based cameras at CES

Manufacturers of traditional photo film and film-based cameras will be highlighting their new products at the International Consumer Electronics Show 2000. Canon is launching brand new additions to its 35mm and Advanced Photo System cameras, the most daring of which is the Elph Sport which can be taken underwater down to 16.4 ft in depth. Other exhibitors are Samsung, Polaroid, Kalimar, Kodak and Olympus.

35mm, APS go smaller

Several 35mm and Advanced Photo System (APS) cameras have been launched at the 2000 Photo Marketing Assn trade show. Eastman Kodak, for instance, has unveiled Adventix Preview camera, Easy Load 35mm cameras and basic beginners' Kb18 and Kb28 fixed focus models. On the other hand, Konica has introduced its improved Revio line of APS cameras and three Z-UP models of 355mm cameras.

Sharing the stage at Photokina
Article Abstract:
Digital cameras, which are enjoying increasing acceptance at major trade shows, still had to share the limelight with traditional photographic film equipment at Photokina '98. The products unveiled at the trade show include the QV-7000SX digital camera from Casio, the DCF5 mini Compact Flash model from Panasonic and the MVC-FD91 floppy disc Mavicas from Sony. Kodak unveiled the DC210 Plus Zoom while Fuji showed its upgraded DS-330.
