Silicone injection restores failing submarine cables

Orcas Power and Light Co. of Eastsound, WA, chose to inject silicone instead of replacing its damaged cross-linked polyethylene-insulated submarine cables to save on costs. The utility used Utilx's CableCure silicone fluid which has a 10-year reliability guarantee.
