Sony arms security sets with network functions, digital recorders
Article Abstract:
Sony Corp has developed network-compatible cameras, digital recording devices and other versatile tools that will work with closed-circuit TV. It created the HSR-2 hybrid digital recorder which integrates a hard disc drive with Digital Videocassette tapes. It can perform multiplex recording and carries out monitoring and reproduction tasks. It can also reproduce stored images while continuing to record the surveillance site. Another offering is the SNT-V304 network server which extracts the optimum benefits from the HSR-2.

The firm offers a broad range of products that are capable of remote surveillance. It is reinforcing efforts for system integration and is bolstering its service and maintenance system. It has developed the WV- CS850 Super Dynamic II surveillance camera that works around the clock by itself. It comes with a 220x zoom capability and can conduct 360 degrees monitoring.

Ikegami pictures public utilities in its plans for security systems

Ikegami Tsushinki Company Ltd has developed an advanced technology for image systems which it applies to its cameras. The Parlor Automation System draws on the technologies of its existing security systems which specifically work in Japan's pachinko parlors. The systems can detect small but irregular movements of the game machine. It can also detect irregular movements by the players themselves. Through the technology, the company hopes to develop other variants of the PAS for use in game arcades outside Japan.
