Sony counts on MDs, other digital products for overseas profits
Article Abstract:
Sony Corp of Japan intends to push the sales of its Wega Series flat screen television and MiniDisc (MD) players to foreign shores. The company's Senior General Manager for International Marketing, Tadasu Kawai, said that the success of those products in the domestic market is expected to be carried into the international market. Sony has already started marketing the MDs in the US with a promotion aimed at its local sales force in Oct 1997.
