Communication equipment manufacturers such as Panasonic, Toshiba and Thomas Consumer Electronics have introduced 2.4 gigahertz (GHz) cordless phones in 1999. The 2.4 GHz technology was immediately accepted by the consumer market and perceived better than 900 megahertz cordless products for it provides better sound quality and clarity. Meanwhile, other manufacturers intend to continue focusing on producing and marketing Caller ID telephones which also demonstrated rising patronage.
