Toshiba adds DBS/TV, Wink sets

Toshiba America Consumer Products Inc has launched its new products that include two DBS-enabled high definition TV, three WINK-equipped color TVs, a new line of fourth-generation DVD players and a line of new Hi-Fi VCRs. The two wide-screen HDTV sets are the 65-inch DX65X91 and the 56-inch DX56X91, which both includes an internal DBS IRD. The company also announced three models of Wink-enhanced TV sets: the 36-inch direct view model CX36H64 and two projection sets, the 50-inch model TP50H64 and 55- inch TP55H64.

Some of these products include the Adobe PhotoDeluxe and PhotoShop Lite from Adobe Systems, Microsoft's Version 3.0 of Picture IT! 99 and MGI Software's PhotoSuite. Other graphic software offerings include JASC's paint program and Corel Corp's Print Office desktop publishing software.

Hitachi Ltd has launched its new line of VCRs and camcorders. The company has also announced its DVD prototypes, a prototype LCD projection set and an innovative DVD-RAM-like digital camcorder. Hitachi said that it has started shipping its new HD-ready TV sets such as the 61HDX98B 61-inch, 16:9 HD projection TV, the 60SDX88B 60-in HDTV-ready progressive scan projection TV and the 36SDX88B 36-inch HDTV-ready progressive scan Ultravision TV.
