NEC Corp has expanded its VersaPro series of notebook computers by introducing six additional models. The new models include two thin, lightweight mobile computers with touch panels, two other mobile notebook computers, one fine-specification model and one compact, all-in-one model. Specific products include the $2,574 VA40H/SV Model TVN69 with a touch panel, the VA75J/AF Model ZAB69 with fine specifications and the VA60H/WX Model ZAB69 compact all-in-one model.

NEC software detects data tampering

Article Abstract:

NEC Corp has unveiled a data mining software that can detect fraud, data- tampering, abuse of information and wasteful practices from large volumes of data by noting unusual patterns known as outliers in data. The company claims that the software could substantially lower the cost of fraud detection. It can also be used in risk management including communications, finance and insurance.
