Nox emissions may impede deregulation and competition, hence, limiting a company's financial health. Nox compliance entails firing a boiler to obtain very low NOx emissions which speed ups long-term degradation of costly boiler tubes. Moreover, the flexibility of the unit to be deployed is adversely affected.
