A study conducted on the latest developments in an around 3D CAD software and the use of 2D by engineers reveal that some people still design in 2D, as it works for them in their environment but some are still unaware of the advantages for 3D. 3D is useful to ease the communication of concepts and ideas to nontechnical people, especially customers and those engaged in marketing and field service.
