A new definition aims to connect quality with financial performance
Article Abstract:
The changing business environment requires a new definition of quality that allows managers to approach quality in a way that creates value and economic worth for customers, shareholders, employees and the company. The new definition offers a unified approach, but also challenges quality professionals to review some of their most valued principles and practices. It presents quality as a state in which value entitlement is produced for the customer and provider in every element of the business relationship.

Six Sigma leads enterprises to coordinate efforts
Article Abstract:
A business entitlement matrix can be used to define the business relationship in terms of a product's real and perceived worth, usefulness and availability. An analysis of this matrix has sought to establish how conventional management initiatives link with the Six Sigma understanding of quality. It is clear that many firms have a wide range of quality initiatives that may or may not be focusing on the same goal. Lack of coordination leads to unreliable operations and financial outcomes. The Six Sigma Academy believes that its new definition of quality can supply the organizing focus the quality movement requires.
