Amiga: the computer that wouldn't die
Article Abstract:
The Amiga computer, which was popular 20 years ago, is making a comeback. The original machine was known for its ability to render images and animation, as well as high-quality sound and speech. Since that time, its repuation has been sustained by a loyal user community. The new Amiga, which relies on innovative software developed by the Tao Group, is being promoted as a multimedia platform for the first decade of the 21st century. Amiga Inc will make the new computer. The company was formed in Jan 2000.

The race to the bottom
Article Abstract:
Nanotechnology based data storage devices have the potential to replace ordinary magnetic hard-disk drives due to its low cost, high capacity, high data-rate and small size. The race for producing the world's first consumer nanotechnology device is being fought between IBM and a startup company launched by a self-taught engineer.

Quantum code cracking creeps closer
Article Abstract:
A discussion of a five-bit quantum computer being developed at IBM's Almaden Research Center is presented. The quantum computer can perform a calculation that supports a unique algorithm developed by Peter W. Shor in 1994. If the algorithm works, public key cryptography will be rendered obsolete.
