Lotfi A. Zadeh
Article Abstract:
Lotfi A. Zadeh claims that the idea for describing real-world conditions in fuzzy terms came to him in Jul. 1964. Born in 1921 in Azerbaijan, Zadeh earned an electrical engineering degree from the University of Teheran in 1942. Currently a professor emeritus at the University of California in Berkeley, CA, he endured 20 years of criticism before his fuzzy logic theory became widely accepted. For him, recognition came after the Japanese used fuzzy logic in consumer electronics applications.
