CCTV: setting the standard
Article Abstract:
The demand for cctv equipment is continuing to grow and a new framework for a European standard has been agreed by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardisation. The current lack of technical standards has meant that much of the hardware is based on on different technologies which may not be compatible. Buyers and installers have to depend on the claims of manufacturers, although a number of bodies have published guides to cctv systems.

The pro prefab MEDIC
Article Abstract:
The Modular Engineering Design Integrated Construction (MEDIC) project was created in 1999 to monitor prefabrication design and installation methods, the time and resources used on-site to erect those designs, and to publish the information gathered on the MEDIC Web site. This information can help construction companies make decisions on the use of off-site prefabrication.
