Scientists at Washington University, Saint Louis, MO, led by Stuart Solin, a professor of physics, are developing computer disk drives that can store at least 40 times as much data as existing disk drives. The new drives are based on a physics effect called extraordinary magnetoresistance (EMR).

The present techniques that predict the occurrence of the hurricane disasters are not very much reliable. The reliability of the predictions made by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the British team regarding the hurricane disasters are discussed.
