3D designers built a new device that groups useful buttons and keys around a 3D hand controller, but more importantly, works with software to intelligently change the functions of six keys across the top depending on the task the user is engaged. The 'SpacePilot' from 3D Connexion, builds on the capabilities offered for two-handed mouse, by the CadMan, Space Traveller, SpaceBall and SpaceMouse.

Fastener presses home firm benefit

A German company Arnold has developed the TriPress range of press-in fasteners to stay firmly attached to a range of substrates with a range of versions available for different tasks. These fasteners are useful for thermoplastics and light metals but have not worked well in steels and it is noted that the cost savings are huge.
