Cost and performance analysis of a robotic rework cell
Article Abstract:
A cost model of manual rework has been developed to suit the need of semi- and fully automated rework technologies. The two alternative rework approaches are evaluated and compared to provide an indication of how appropriate a robotic rework cell is. The cost model demonstrated that an equipment cost for automated rework can be justified up to 330,000 pounds sterling while incorporating rework tooling into a robotic assembly cell should not exceed 40,000 pounds sterling.

Effects of cycle time on integrated procurement-production systems - sensitivity analysis
Article Abstract:
Integrated procurement-production systems combine production and procurement processes to reduce the degree of suboptimality. Variations of integrated procurement-production models (IPP) were studied with regard to total variable cost sensitivity to cycle time. Total cost difference based on 700 problem sets was computed for variations in cycle time. Analysis reveals that percent change for total variable increases as cycle time percent change rises.

A comment on Martin's: note on an EOQ model with a temporary sale price
Article Abstract:
G.E. Martin errs when he declares that existing models for determining economic order quantity are erroneous. To prove such a point, a simpler model that analyzes decisionmaking involved in the context of a price discount, using Martin's assumptions, is derived. This model as well as other current models prove to be robust. Incidentally, the model applies as well to price increase situations.
