Cut the cost of bulk-solids flow measurement
Article Abstract:
Flow monitoring has become critical in pneumatic lines and gravity chutes for powder and bulk solids applications. Flow detectors, flow indicators and flow meters are used in flow monitoring. Flow meters provide accurate measures of amounts of material throughput but are not typically considered low cost. When the precision of a flow meter is not required, engineers can use available acoustic, microwave, triboelectric and ultrasonic flow detectors and indicators, some of which provide an accuracy level approaching 5%.

Analyzer transmitter offers accurate CEMS
Article Abstract:
Rosemount Analytical has developed a combination of the CAT Continuous analyzer Transmitter wtih a Sample Handling System, the modular CAT Continuous Emissions Monitoring package, which eliminates the need for a costly and cumbersome analyzer shelter. It also reduces other installation costs. The reduced size and rugged packaging enable tthe analyzer system to be mounted closer to the process, eliminating sample-line measurement delays. The CAT is compatible with the DeltaV scalable process control system.

Transmitter has dual-compartment enclosure
Article Abstract:
Moore Industries' THZ Smart HART Temperature Transmitter has a dual- compartment enclosure with an isolation steal that protects the transmitter's electronics from moisture and corrosives brought in through conduit entries. With such feature, the company claims that this transmitter delivers twice the accuracy of comparable transmitters and allows up to five years between calibrations.
