Tilt transducers ignore rolling
Article Abstract:
Tilt Measurement Ltd has developed a transducer for accurate measurement of movement. The design, developed from electronic spirit levels, ignores any extraneous tilt. The transducer is available in low-cost plastic and glass ceramic. The cheaper version would accommodate automotive industry needs. The ceramic device is applicable to precision engineering in the aerospace industry. Analogue and digital versions are available.

Static power separates the wheat from the chaff
Article Abstract:
A team of engineers from Brunel University has developed an electrostatic conveyor that will move, control and separate streams of seeds or powders. The equipment uses an electrostatic valve, with electro clamping introducing a positive or negative charge into small particles. It has been found that such particle charging can also enhance seed germination.
