Employees use only half their brainpower at work
Article Abstract:
A survey on how brainpower is being used in the workplace was conducted by international consulting firm Kepner-Tregoe. Majority of the 1,414 managers and employees surveyed feel that they lack proper training to enhance their thinking skills. Results also showed that 45% of managers find it difficult to gather information for problem-solving, decision-making, and planning, while 47% of employees and 26% of managers claimed that companies fail to expect potential problems. The study emphasizes the need for companies to stimulate their workers' critical thinking capabilities since corporate success is largely dictated by how effectively an organization thinks.

Outsourcing is the answer-or is it?
Article Abstract:
Corporations outsourcing financial functions and business processes use outsourcing more as a competitive tool than a way of controling costs. Widely outsourced activities in decreasing order are legal works, shipping, computer information systems, and production and manufacturing. These are results of surveys conducted by Arthur Anderson and The Economist Intelligence Units of executives in North America and Europe. Sheldon Sobel, president of a consultancy firm, gives his opinions on outsourcing in the area of computer information systems.

How to rejuvenate a tired team
Article Abstract:
Increased opportunity for innovation and decision-making by employees is one way of renewing their enthusiasm. These innovative ideas are often sparked by introducing new stimuli in the form of exposure trips to clients or suppliers. In addition, reformulating the company's objectives to make the goal more challenging and inviting visitors and new team members who provide fresh ideas will surely make the employees more up to the task.
