Epicyclics take more of the torque
Article Abstract:
Norbat Tools, a UK based company has developed an epicyclic gearbox that can deliver more torque per unit diameter when gear elements are supported by bearings on either side. Further, increase in torque can be obtained by using stronger base materials along with surface treatments and needle roller bearings without cages.
