From eggshells to alternative energy

L.S. Fan, a university professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering at Ohio State University, and Mahesh Iyer, his former doctoral student, are working on a process that will allow the production of hydrogen using eggshells. This hydrogen may be used as a power source for automotive fuel cells.
