Is it as round as it looks?
Article Abstract:
Manufacturers face increasingly stricter standards of roundness and cylindricity for rotating and cylindrical parts in factory processes. Required tolerances are met by setting strict control standards for fabrication processes in producing components. The minimum zone, minimum circumscribed, maximum inscribed and least squares methods present four ways by which circle tolerances can be established with a minimum degree of imperfection.

Evaluating the tradeoffs: ISO 9000 registration or compliance?
Article Abstract:
Companies are divided concerning the issue of the increasing use of ISO registration by customers as basis for screening prospective suppliers. Some companies view registration to ISO 9000 as having no direct link to the quality improvement of a product or service. Other companies, however, view the ISO 9000 as a primary motivator for vendors to continually improve the quality of their products and services.
