Low cost fluxgate measures all fields: sensor technology

Article Abstract:

A magnetic field sensor that is only slightly affected by temperature, has been developed at low cost. Fluxgate sensors comprise coils wound around magnetic material which allows alternating current to pass through saturating the coils. The new device has a field strength which is translated into a pulse train with a frequency inversely proportional to the magnitude of the field.
