Clark-Schwebel Glass Fiber Corp's experience in reengineering its operations to achieve superior quality levels is provided. Clark-Schwebel, a leading producer of glass-fiber fabrics used in computer circuit board manufacture, began its quality improvement initiative in 1986 with the introduction of quality circles. It later hired the Miller Consulting Group to assist it in implementing a self-managing work group system and has since retained Miller as its partner in its reorganization as a progressive, employee-centered, Total Quality Management-oriented manufacturing company.
