Succeeding with virtual instruments
Article Abstract:
Modular hardware and software that are designed to satisfy present and future needs are needed for achieving a successful virtual instrument test system. The initial step should focus on defining and documenting the test requirements to ensure that the product meets requirements once the system is complete. The second step is to select the computer platform and the instruments that will be used in the system. In choosing the proper test-development software, one should consider first the kind of computer that will run the test program.

Virtual instruments meet custom test needs
Article Abstract:
Virtual instruments or computer-controlled test systems offer the advantage of more flexibility at lower costs. Virtual instruments can be custom designed for any test application by merely altering the computer program used to control the system. The virtual control panelboard appearing as a computer display can easily be changed. Added advantages are the capacity for storing more data and the simplification of data collection and analysis.
