Article Abstract:
A number of sector-specific documents and standards have been issued, even though the ISO 9000 series of quality management system standards is seen as flexible. The sector-specific requirements are based directly or indirectly on the ISO 9001 QMS standard, but their impact on industry and quality management must be considered. It seems inevitable that sector-specific standards will put more pressure on industry suppliers. However, their impact will not be entirely negative.
