The right stuff
Article Abstract:
Most experts despise and look down on colleagues who are willing to trade their knowledge and respect for the truth in return for monetary rewards. Like lawyers who twist their words to prove their point, there are scientific and technical experts who serve as witnesses and manipulate facts to present a distorted version of the truth. Such is the case with Dr Alan Done, a pediatric pharmacologist who witnessed against Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals. Dr Done presented his arguments by twisting the data of epidemiological studies but his bogus methodology was finally uncoveredand the case was dismissed.
