The secret life of birds
Article Abstract:
A comprehensive study of storm petrels, a small and secretive seabird is being done, by burying a mote sensor underground in order to study the behavior and life patterns of the bird. The storm petrel lives out in the waters of South Atlantic and heads north to shore in springtime to mate, it remains underground during the day and comes out during night.

A detailed description of an off-road robotic race on the Mojave Desert, staged by the Pentagon's high-risk research and development wing, the United States Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), is presented. The way in which an Armada of four-wheelers, six-wheelers and even a two-wheeler performed in the race is described.
