Uncommon common sense: it made sense to Norand Corporation to encourage team building

Article Abstract:

Norand Corporation in Cedar Rapids, IA, is a manufacturer of automated route accounting systems and has implemented a Total quality Commitment (TQC) process to help develops its team building approach. It has set up over 100 teams since the starte of its total quality process in 1989, although initially there was clashes between the horizontal concept of TQC and the traditional management structure. The role of the company's forecasting TQC team is described.

TQM in software development organisations: a six-phase approach for software developers

Article Abstract:

Software developers often rush new software onto the market to meet demand from consumers, although this often means that the software contains bugs. Software organisations need to implement total quality management (TQM) to overcome this problem. This should involve identifying customers of the product, continued input and review of design, reviewing test results, user acceptance testing, training customers, and reviewing the process.
