River hydrology and the north Atlantic oscillation: A general review
Article Abstract:
North Atlantic Oscilation (NAO) is one of the major regional systems controlling climate in Europe, northern Africa, Greenland, North America and most part of northern Asia and its influence on meteorological conditions is strong in winter. The relationship between NAO and river runoff shows that the territorial range of the NAO's influence on hydrological conditions includes its influence on meterologial conditions.

Are floods growing?
Article Abstract:
The situation of growing floods is viewed by considering the factors like the damage the floods have caused, massive inundation of rivers and deltas, over pumping of underground water, and others. Some of the measures to solve the problem are development of flood forecasting and warning systems, watershed management, and control of habitation of inundated areas.
