Behavioural and life history traits in temporary and perennial waters: Comparisons among three pairs of sibling dragonfly species
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on the differences in the life history and behavior traits in a series of laboratory experiments using pairs of dragonfly species out of three genera of Namibian Libellulidae with one species from each type of habitat. The results imply that while growth rate is adapted to the habitat, behavioural traits are influenced by phylogenetic inertia rather than by the habitat variables.

On optimal propagule size and developmental time
Article Abstract:
It is argued that when mortality is size-dependent, the optimization of propagule size is independent of the length of the ensuing development period. Marine fish are used to also show that larger or smaller propagules are favoured in response to factors that affect growth and mortality rates depending on which of these variables scale more sharply with size.

Larval growth history determines juvenile growth and survival in a tropical marine fish
Article Abstract:
The roles of larval history and selective post-settlement mortality in determining the growth and survival of newly settled individuals of the damselfish are explored. The processes occurring around the transition between larval and juvenile life-stages in a tropical marine fish are discussed.
