Biogeochemistry of mercury in the Amazonian environment
Article Abstract:
Research for the processes that affect mercury (Hg) cycling in the Amazonian environment are reviewed, criticized and new directions are proposed. However the studies carried out show that the Amazon environment is too restricted and the results shown are only circumstantial.

Mercury concentrations in feathers of wading birds from Florida
Article Abstract:
High levels of lead have been found in wading birds in Southern Florida. Feathers tested indicated anywhere from 2.0 ppm Hg to 8.2 ppm Hg. Concentrations higher than 9 ppm Hg have been know to cause reproductive problems in shore birds.
