Critical education in resource and environmental management: Learning and empowerment for a sustainable future
Article Abstract:
A model of non-formal adult education for use in resource and environmental management is described. The critical environmental assessment (EA) education model challenges existing patterns of resource use and addresses the problem of deficiencies in public involvement processes. Critical EA education involves both cognitive development and personal empowerment, concentrating on problem solving, social action and critical intelligence.
