Disentangling interference competition from exploitative competition in a crab-bivalve system using a novel experimental approach
Article Abstract:
A novel experimental approach is used to disentangle interference competition from exploitative competition in a crab-bivalve system involving shore crabs Carcinus maenas that forage on blue mussels mytilus edulis. Interference competition occurs in absence of prey depletion, while conducting direct behavioral observations aid to identify the behavioral processes that underlie interference competition.

Time and energy constraints in demanding phases of the annual cycle: An example of time limitation in refueling migratory swans
Article Abstract:
The controlled patterns in refueling migratory swans that resembled time limitation more than energy-processing limitation with delay feeding time not changing and MEI changing responses to a change in food biomass density are described. It is found that most animals are energy-processing-limited rather than time-limited.
