Genotypic variation in induced resistance and induced susceptibility in the peach-Myzus periscae aphid system
Article Abstract:
The influence of previous herbivory by the aphid Mycus persicae in differentially changing the expression of resistance and susceptibility among the five genotypes of peach that vary in their resistance phenotype are analyzed. The aphid probing behavior when studied to find the host plant tissues playing an important part in induced defenses showed that the behavior was affected by plant genotype, previous herbivory and previous interactions.

Experimental small-scale grassland fragmentation alters aphid population dynamics
Article Abstract:
The increase in herbivore abundance in fragmented habitats as a result of reduced predator and parasitoid densities is investigated. The population dynamics of aphids with respect to host plant abundance and ant nest density in experimentally fragmented calcareous grasslands at two sites in the northern Jura mountains is examined.
