Going to polar extremes
Article Abstract:
Greenpeace's investigation in the Arctic Circle and Antarctica revealed clear and measurable evidence of climate change. Climate change, which is caused by the accumulation of atmospheric carbon dioxide, will result in the melting of polar ice caps and the destruction of polar habitats. Global warming can be addressed through the reduction of greenhouse emissions. This can be achieved by using renewable energy technologies and promoting energy efficiency.

A toxic toy story
Article Abstract:
A freelance writer narrates her experiences of buying toys devoid of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). PVC has severe ill health effects, and infants are the most vulnerable group. PVC toys are mixed with toxic adhesives, since pure PVC is brittle. It is difficult to find toys devoid of PVC in the toy shops, since they are unlabeled. Non-plastic toys, such as books, wood trains and stuffed animals can give pleasure to children without any harmful effects.
